Certified Grief Recovery Specialist
Jocelyn Jackson became a Grief Recovery Specialist in 2010 and was trained in the same group as founder Sandi Atmore. Jocelyn’s greatest desire is to help people overcome the emotional obstacles in their lives as a result of unresolved grief.
Jocelyn is a California native; she grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She entered college with a pre-law emphasis and received Bachelor’s degrees in both Political Science and Spanish language from UC Davis. She pursued her passion for the arts and obtained a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Washington (ranked third in the nation by U.S. News & World Reports). She moved back to California and worked full time as an actor for five years while dedicating much of her time to serve at church. Her church offered her a position on staff and she has been blessed to be a part of a team that works diligently to serve the local church. It was through a church member that Jocelyn first heard about the Grief Recovery Institute.
Jocelyn originally came to Grief Recovery after the death of her mother. During her training, Jocelyn learned that there were over 40 different losses a person can encounter over a lifetime. As she began to understand the scope of what grief really is and work on her own losses, she also discovered her purpose. Her passion in helping others was grounded in knowing that the work of grief recovery is not just for one hurting in one area but for the entirety of one's well being.
Jocelyn is very pleased to partner with Grief Unchained to offer grief recovery assistance for those struggling with pain and disappointments.
